Gosh, when I started it, I didn’t imagine how much this would turn out to be a painting I would absolutely enjoy looking at all the time, and one that makes me really happy. This is the painting that’s starting out this style that I have, where the process is very much intuitional. In an effort to break free from technology while painting, I start them by putting on the canvas everything that comes out from my subconscious; shapes, colors, shadows… With no judgement, this first part allows me to then come back to an already pretty full canvas. I become more poised and take a subject or two… or three! that I would paint in a more realistic manner. Here, a fun tiger reminding the most mysterious of us that we can still be cheerful and less serious. A Vespa that represents to me the same thing as what a seasonal bird or a butterfly would; people getting out their Vespas for a drive in the south of France signals the start of the sunny season. And many other elements that have layers of meaning. Pluuuus a hidden moon that I can’t help but add. I hope you love it as much as I do.
